Environmentally friendly printing
Greycot Press are very enviromentally friendly with no compromise on quality. We have a waterless direct image Lithographic printing press that uses none of the chemicals and water associated with traditional printing process. This gives a better quality image by eliminating the dampening system used on a conventional press and the problems associated with ink/water balance, resulting in more consistent colour throughout the print run and better colour saturation.
We only use paper from sustainable sources or recycled paper. Our printing inks are soya based and all our used plates and chemicals are taken away and recycled. We are members of the Waterless Printing Association.
Paper the facts
Paper has been around for almost 2000 years, and during this time it has undoubtedly established itself as the most effective and versatile means of communication, even in today's digital age. Paper is the most eco friendly form of communication, bar none. It is fully sustainable, renewable and it can be easily recycled and reused.
94% of the paper we use comes from europe. The industry plants 3 to 4 trees for every one that is harvested and Europe's forests are growing by the equivalent of 1.5 million football pitches a year. As young trees grow they absorb CO2 from the atmosphere, a well managed forest used and replanted absorbs more carbon than a mature forest.
Reading a newspaper consumes 20% less carbon than viewing news online. About 2 million PCs end up in landfill or storage every year. Paper is wholly recyclable and never needs to go to landfill.
